Tracks by Camera Obscura and Broken Records feature on a digital sampler given away by venerable London-based independent label 4AD.
2009 has been a busy year for 4AD, with Glasgow indie-popsters Camera Obscura scoring their first ever Top 40 album with My Maudlin Career, The Big Pink achieving their first ever Top 40 single with Dominos and the Dark Was The Night compilation (the mastermind of The National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner) raising nearly £500,000 for the Red Hot Organisation.
In celebration of the year – which was also 4AD’s 30th birthday, the label are giving away the sampler, which feature’s French Navy by Camera Obscura and a If Eilert Loveborg Wrote A Song, It Would Sound Like This, a track inspired by a character in Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler, by stomping Edinburgh indie-folk septet Broken Records.
